  • National Trainer (Mental Health First Aid)

    Trained and certified (on behalf of MHFA-USA) instructors to teach the Mental Health First Aid standard curricula (Adult MHFA, Youth MHFA , teen MHFA)

  • Curriculum Developer (Mental Health First Aid)

    Developed and revised content for Adult Mental Health First Aid (In-Person and Blended courses), Youth Mental Health First Aid (In-Person Blended courses). Developed train-the-trainer materials and curricula for standard courses.

    Developed population-specific modules for Adult Mental Health First Aid course, including Higher Education module, Public Safety module, Military, Veterans, and Their Families module, and Fire/EMS module

  • Curriculum Developer (Tribal Tech)

    Developed a 2-day train-the-trainer program for a community course. Topics included harm reduction, community SWOT analysis, creating a safe learning environment, trauma and trauma-informed care.

  • ECHO Model Faculty (National Council for Mental Wellness)

    Served as a subject-matter expert for a state-wide implementation of a mental health program.

  • Community of Practice Facilitator (Wisconsin Safe and Healthy Schools)

    Provided ongoing training and continuing education for a state-wide cadre of instructors.

  • Equity Consultant

    Provided professional development training in the areas of ideology, responding to bias in learning environments, and the intersections of equity, restorative justice, and mental health.

 

Soumya’s Recent Projects

  • Medical Consultant (Social Security Administration)

    Reviewed medical and collateral evidence to make disability determinations. Provided trainings to examiners in the area of neurocognitive disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, somatoform disorders, and mental residual functioning capacity.

  • Equity Consultant (November Project)

    Developed large group and small group trainings for co-leaders in 52 cities aimed to decrease gaps in knowledge and skills in the areas of equity and anti-racism.

    Developed Leadership Workbook to be disseminated to all co-leaders to support ethical leadership and centering of equity and anti-racism.

    Supported the development of community agreements implemented in all November Project locations

  • Curriculum Developer (Iowa Peer Support and Family Peer Support Training Program)

    Developed and designed online content, evaluation, and activities for 4 modules focused on principles of equity.

  • Facilitation Consultant (University of Wisconsin-Madison)

    Facilitated a series of workshops to address group dynamics, improve current communication and organizational process, and support team development.
